Winter Tyres

As the temperature drops, it is important to change your tyres to our Lexus Winter Tyres, as anything below 7 degrees, means the tread in your normal tyres will begin to harden. This makes it tricky to control your stopping distance and grip on the road.

Our winter tyres use a special rubber compound and tread designed to improve grip and decrease stopping distances in wet, snowy, and icy road conditions. The deep treads have small slits to improve your grip on the road making it easier to take corners smoothly and help to reduce your cars stopping distance.

We also stock a range of all-season tyres to provide optimum performance in all conditions.

Checking Your Tyres

Keeping the tyres on your Lexus in good condition is essential to keep you safe, to improve fuel efficiency and to comply with UK law.

There are six ways to tell if you need to change your tyres:

  • Tread Test – grab a 20p coin and pop it into the main tread grooves of your tyre, then if the outer band of the coin is hidden by the rubber, your tread is above the legal limit.
  • Tyre Match – make sure the tread and patterns look the same on all 4 tyres.
  • Wheel Wobble – when driving at 40-50mph and you feel your steering wheel start to vibrate, it’s time to get your tyres checked.
  • Steering Pull – if you feel yourself veering off to one direction whilst driving, it’s worth having your tyres or tracking checked.
  • Sidewall Damage – make sure to check the sides of your tyres for any splits, blisters or cracks as your tyres will need to be replaced if any are found.
  • Tyre Markings – the markings on your tyre sidewall contain important information about your tyre such as the tyre width, rim diameter and speed rating.
