We are delighted that our Lexus Cambridge branch has been successful in securing £1,800 for Magpas Air Ambulance. The funding, obtained through the Lexus Community Fund, will support the charity in continuing to deliver CPR skills, as well as enabling them to upgrade key equipment including manikins and defibrillators.
The Lexus Community Fund is a programme of small grants designed to help local charities, schools and community projects. Applications can be put forward by retail centres on behalf of projects in their local community. In the past financial year, the fund has supported many deserving causes in the UK, from schools to cancer care charities.
Magpas Air Ambulance serves communities across the East of England, delivering pre-hospital emergency care in the air and on land, including providing treatments usually only available in hospitals. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the charity answers an average of four calls for help per day, treating approximately 900 patients in life-threatening emergencies every year.
Here’s what Annette Ablewhite, Community and Events Officer at Magpas Air Ambulance had to say about the donation:
“We are delighted to receive this donation which will help us upgrade our equipment and continue delivering vital CPR skills to our communities. We rely on donations, fundraising and volunteering to enable us to respond to medical emergencies and save lives. We thank Lexus Cambridge for this generous donation and we’re looking forward to working with them more in the coming months.”
