We are thrilled to secure a £2,000 grant for Acacia Family Support, a charity that supports families affected by pre and postnatal depression and anxiety. They offer free services to those living in Birmingham or registered with a Birmingham GP, including:

  • One-to-one befriending and peer support
  • On-site creche
  • Groupwork sessions using cognitive behavioural therapy techniques
  • Telephone and video call support
  • A dedicated service for dads and partners
  • Specialised support for young parents
  • Helping Hands at Home service

Acacia Family Support was founded in 2004 by two mothers, Emma Borg and Rachel Gregory, who both experienced postnatal depression and anxiety and were inspired to create support for other families in similar situations. The name is inspired by the Acacia tree – a tree which thrives in the driest and most barren places.

The funding secured by our Toyota Tamworth Centre will be used towards the charity’s Volunteers Project, helping over 40 volunteers at the charity feel motivated and valued by providing them with training, ongoing development, peer support and recognition for their life-changing work.

The Toyota Community Fund is a programme of small grants designed to help local charities, schools and community projects. In the past financial year, the fund has supported many deserving causes in the UK, from schools to cancer care charities.

The Toyota Community Fund is operated by the Toyota (GB) Charitable Trust on behalf of Toyota (GB) PLC and Toyota Financial Services, Registered Charity Number 327808.
