We are delighted to secure a £1,550 grant for The Oaks Specialist College. The college was set up in 2018 to address a critical need in the community for meaningful education and training for 18-25 year olds with disabilities. The college is an independent, not-for-profit charity which started with just 10 learners and is now supporting over 140 young people. The Oaks Specialist College supports its learners to obtain work experience placements and paid work.
The funding secured by our Toyota Tunbridge Wells Centre will be used towards 2026 residential trips for its learners. They run three trips throughout spring and summer each year that range from PGL campuses to holiday parks. Many of the college’s learners have never been away from home before, so these trips provide an opportunity for them to develop their independence and make fantastic memories for life.
The Toyota Community Fund is a programme of small grants designed to help local charities, schools and community projects. In the past financial year, the fund has supported many deserving causes in the UK, from schools to cancer care charities.
The Toyota Community Fund is operated by the Toyota (GB) Charitable Trust on behalf of Toyota (GB) PLC and Toyota Financial Services, Registered Charity Number 327808.
