Funding Secured for Let Us Play

We are thrilled to secure a £1,350 grant for Let Us Play, a Wolverhampton-based charity that supports children and young people with disabilities, special needs and poor health.

Let Us Play provides sports, arts, play and outings to children and young people living in Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas, as well as running a parent support group and a disabled volunteers project. Its sessions aim to improve mental health, reduce social isolation and give disabled children skills for life, supporting them towards independent living, providing the opportunity to have fun and giving parents a break from caring.

The charity has recently built a new garden room to enable them to expand their services to support more children. This space provides two additional rooms, which will be used for children with high levels of needs, requiring 1:1 supervision and care.

The funding secured by our Toyota Wolverhampton Centre will be used towards furnishing and equipping Let Us Play’s new garden room. Specifically, this will include purchasing a range of sensory games and activities for the children including activity/play walls and a musical touch wall, floor mats and puzzles, as well as comfortable seating to provide the children with a place to relax.

The Toyota Community Fund is a programme of small grants designed to help local charities, schools and community projects. In the past financial year, the fund has supported many deserving causes in the UK, from schools to cancer care charities. We’re thrilled to secure this funding and we hope it helps to support the Caring and Sharing Trust and the important work it does.
